Tasks
Utilisation of synchrotron radiation in the X-ray spectral range for basic and applied metrological tasks with
main focus on radiometry:
- Realisation of radiometric units by using the primary source standard BESSY II as calculable source of synchrotron radiation according
to Schwinger's theory and cryogenic radiometers as primary detector standards
- Calibration regarding radiometric measurands for dissemination of the units by transfer detectors
- Characterisation and quality assurance of optical components and assembled systems in particular the x-ray regime
- Investigation of nanolayers and particles applying x-ray reflectometry and small-angle scattering
- Development and application of reference-standard-free x-ray fluorescence analysis
- Photon diagnostics and materials research at x-ray lasers
